In 2014 CERN’s CLOUD experiment showed that biogenic vapours emitted by trees and oxidised in the atmosphere have a significant impact on the formation of clouds, thus helping to cool the planet (CERN, 2016). My parents are buried near to Wyndham’s Oak at St Nicholas Church, Silton. The tree is thought to be 1000 years old.
