Photo Etching Experiment #1
First time in the print workshop – I wanted to make a series of etchings using stills taken from the film Take Me, I Will Shelter You. The process was much longer than I had realised and overall took three days from image optimisation in Photoshop to the final plates being ready to print from.
I made two plates or three images each varying the bitmap dither amount (1/10/100) or halftone frequency (1/56) settings in Photoshop. For me, the images I selected where the settings were output to create quite blocky images with less fine detail were most visually pleasing. However I’m not sure that they are necessarily relevant to the overall project.
